The E31B visa is a “dependent/spouse” KITAS, a residence permit for the spouse of a foreigner who holds a valid stay permit (KITAS).It’s part of the family-visa / dependent-visa categories under Indonesian immigration.Basically, it lets a legally married couple live together in Indonesia, when one spouse already has legal stay rights.
Important considerations
a. E31B does not automatically grant a right to work for an Indonesian employer (i.e. working for wages) as the KITAS is a dependent/spouse permit, not a worksponsored permit.
b. Running a business or being a company director may also be restricted under E31B (since this visa is dependent status).
c. If the sponsor’s permit (main KITAS/KITAP) is canceled or becomes invalid, the E31B dependent permit may also lose validity.
