Spouse Of Indonesian Citizen – E31A

The E31A is a residence permit (KITAS) / family-visa for a foreign national who is legally married to an Indonesian citizen (WNI). It’s intended for “spouse reunion” so that the foreign spouse can live legally in Indonesia with their Indonesian partner. You must be legally married to an Indonesian citizen, with valid proof of marriage. If you married abroad, the certificate must be translated (if not in English) and reported/registered at the Indonesian Embassy or relevant civil-registry/immigration institution.

If you are a foreigner married to an Indonesian, then E31A is the standard and proper route to legally live together in Indonesia. This is especially useful if you plan to stay long-term in Indonesia. It gives you legal residence, ability to travel in/out multiple times, and a path toward longer-term residence (and possibly permanent permit) if you meet conditions.

With this KITAS you can
✔ Live and study in Indonesia.
✔ Travel to and from Indonesia as many times as you want.
