Child of Indonesian Citizen – E31C

Overview Requirements

E31C is the KITAS category for a foreign child of an Indonesian citizen (at least one parent is WNI/ Indonesian citizen).Through E31C, the child even if foreign can legally reside in Indonesia based on the “family reunification” with their Indonesian parent.
a. Having E31C doesn’t automatically mean full citizenship or permanent residency it’s a temporary stay permit (KITAS), usually 1–2 years with renewals.
b. While children may attend school or reside, additional rights (like working for wages, permanent residency, citizenship) depend on broader rules. E31C is focused on family-based stay/ KITAS, not citizenship or permanent immigration.

Document Requirements

1. Passport valid for at least 30 months

2. Personal bank statement with minimum amount USD $2000 or equivalent the last 3 months period (including name, date of period, and balance account).

3. Latest color photograph.

4. Visa Application from Indonesian parent.

5. Family card of Indonesian parent.

6. Proof of birth of the Foreigner, such as:

a. Birth certificate issued by an authorized government agency; or

b. Proof of birth reporting at the Indonesian Mission or the authorized government agency in Indonesia, if Foreigners are born abroad.

7. Proof of marriage of parents, such as:

a. Proof of reporting or registration at the Indonesian Mission or the authorized government agency in Indonesia and a marriage certificate that has been translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator except written in English; or

b. Marriage book or marriage certificate issued by the authorized government agency in Indonesia, if the marriage is carried out in Indonesia.
