A Working KITAS is a temporary stay permit for foreigners who are employed by an Indonesian company. When it is about to expire, the company must extend it if they want the employee to continue working legally.
A Working KITAS extension renews BOTH:
1. Your Work Permit (RPTKA + Notifikasi/IMTA)
2. Your Stay Permit (KITAS / ITAS)
Both must be extended together because you cannot extend a KITAS without renewing the IMTA, and you cannot continue working if IMTA expires.
To extend a Working KITAS, you must meet:
1. Still employed by the same sponsor company
A working KITAS cannot be extended if:
a. You changed employer
b. Company closed
c. Your registered job title changed to a different allowed category
2. Job title must still match RPTKA
Only certain job positions are allowed for foreigners.
3. Company must be compliant
Includes tax and reporting obligations, manpower reporting, etc.
