An ERP is an immigration document issued to foreigners holding a KITAS (Permanent Stay Permit) to leave Indonesia and not return. An ERP is a document issued to foreign nationals who have left Indonesia or returned to their home country.
The ERP is processed by the sponsor or guarantor of the foreigner at the local immigration office. The ERP processing by the sponsor or guarantor must be done while the KITAS is still valid, because if the KITAS expires, but there is no report to the immigration authorities while the foreigner is no longer in Indonesia, then the foreigner will be recorded as overstaying and if the foreigner will return to Indonesia for the same or different business, then the foreigner will use a new visa or residence permit.
