Mutasi Paspor (Passport Mutation) is the process of updating your immigration records with the details of your new passport. This is essential when your old passport expires or you obtain a new one for any reason.
When you have a VISA/KITAS/KITAP in Indonesia and:
✔ You renew your passport
✔ You change passport number
✔ You change name / place of birth / nationality in your new passport
✔ You lost your old passport and received a new one
You must update (mutate) your VISA/KITAS/KITAP data into the new passport to ensures that your stay permit (KITAS/KITAP) is linked to the new passport details.
If you don’t do passport mutation:
❌ Your VISA/KITAS may be considered invalid
❌ You may face issues when extending your stay permit
❌ You may be stopped at airport immigration
